After some vehicle issues, which led to a delay in his arrival, Bryan finally got home around midnight Saturday morning.
On Saturday morning, we woke up at four a.m., and headed to the woods. Around seven a.m., we climbed into the deer stand, and waited. Didn’t see any deer at all. After about 2.5 hours, we headed back to deer camp.
We spent the day hanging out and talking with the other hunters at camp, and headed back into the woods around 4:30 p.m. Trekked to another deer stand and sat there for another 2.5 hours. No sight of a single deer.
We went back to camp at 7:15, p.m. and we had a fish fry, drank some beers, and spent the rest of the evening talking around a fire.
Although Bryan didn’t get to shoot any deer, and we didn’t get to see any, I had a lot of fun.
I love disconnecting from everyday life, not having any internet or cell phone service, and just enjoying the peace that nature brings. I sit out there, and read, and keep an eye out for any signs of a buck or doe.
I am so glad Bryan is back, and we got to spend a great Saturday in the woods. I am definitely not ready to go back to reality tomorrow, but it’s my twenty third birthday, and another day closer to next weekend!
